RACHAEL STEPHEN IS A SCOTTISH WRITER, FILMMAKER & STORYTELLING TEACHER.

After completing an MA in Philosophy at the University of Glasgow in 2013, she released her first novel, STATE OF FLUX, described as “a sharply written dystopian novel - a mix of Expressionistic gloss and industrial dust.”

She began making videos on YouTube in 2015, created the community project Prep_tober in 2016 to support writers preparing for NaNoWriMo, and in 2017 was awarded funding by Creative Scotland to support a three month period of writing.

She now runs the Story Magic Academy, which teaches writers a system of storytelling strategies centred around the Plot Embryo framework, while working on her own creative projects and stories.

She lives in the fabled land of Yoker, Glasgow. Her accent (for the record) comes from her hometown of Aberdeen, Scotland.
